True in art, true in business: Simplicity is the highest goal, achievable when you have overcome all difficulties. After one has played a vast quantity of notes and more notes, it is simplicity that emerges as the crowning reward of art
- Frédéric François Chopin
You’ve put in the thousands of hours doing your processes – now is the time to simplify and improve them. Now is the time to make sure that they’re always evolving and improving.
We Develop Process for You
Developing business process models and workflows to support them requires analysis, knowledge and experience. We work with you and your employees to map the current methods and procedures, and to develop the best, and simplest, way to automate and improve them. We simulate and mock-up the process to test it.
There are three critical areas to most businesses – customer, supplier, and internal processes. Many of these are handled by the ‘core’ systems – ERP, Accounting and such – but others are handled as best they can be by your staff and something like the “Standard Operating Procedures” manual.
Beyond your equivalent to order processing and shipping, customer/client processes are critical, because you have to keep those who consume your products and services – in almost all cases, there are others who would like to take them for themselves. See some thoughts on how this might work for you here.
Supplier processes are important because we have to make it easy for our suppliers to service us – and to give us the preferential treatment that we deserve. BPM allows us to integrate our processes with our suppliers reducing time, complexity and risk. See some thoughts on how this might work for you here.
Internal processes and procedures are often the most difficult for companies to follow – it is too easy to skip steps - “we’ll attend to that later” – and later never comes. BPM recognizes, formalizes and (makes concrete) critical internal processes, making them failsafe by involving responsible levels of management accountable when exceptions occur. Collaboration
Business Processes are never 'just internal' or 'just customer' – they always lead to other activities – whether it is accounting for a sale or month-end sales reporting every transaction requires followup. Departments collaborate to accomplish business goals as part of the normal day-to-day process. Putting the management of timelines, compliance requirements and reporting into workfows guarantees timeliness; collaboration on these issues improves accuracy.
